Prof. H P Khincha is currently a Professor at Indian Institute of Science,Bangalore. He was formerly vice chancellor of Vishwaraya TechnicalUniversity, Karnataka. He had long stint at IISc Bangalore, where heworked as chairman in department of electrical engineering, divisionalchairman of electrical sciences and CEO of society for Innovation&Development (SID). He is also a member of various committeesof government of India. He is well known worldwide for his researchwork in electrical engineering. He also served as chairman of IEEEBangalore section, and directors of many industries.

He was the recipient of a Gold Medal by the Central Board of Irrigationand Power for the Paper 'On-line Computations for Power SystemControl', January 1973, and for the Report on 'Design and Developmentof Sensitive Solid State Protective Devices', March 1977. He hasreceived a certificate of Merit by the CBI &P for the Paper 'A StaticSampling Quadrilateral Distance Relay, in January 1972 and 'Off LineComputations to Power System Protection, Parts I and II, in 1973.He was also awarded 'Outstanding Young Person 1978 Award' byBangalore Garden Jaycees.
