Mr Mannivanan, graduate from Regional Engineering College, Trichy, a 2008 batch IAS officer, took charge first as MUDA Commissioner and in - charge Commissioner of City Corporation on 24th August 2007 and then as Deputy Commissioner on 28th January 2008. He was also in charge of JNNURM projects. He was chief of MUDA and headed Karnataka Exhibition Authority. He had set up 12 control rooms and 130 mobile police stations with a 20,000-strong staff In the two months leading up to elections, he slapped case after case against violators of the code of conduct, seized Rs 1.25 crore in cash and generally ensured that malpractices were checked. Presently he serves as managing director of Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM).
