Anirban Dey (aka Andy) is the Vice President of In-Memory Platform Technologies in Bangalore. His responsibilities at SAP include Research, Development & Quality Certification for SAPs flagship product in the In-Memory space, SAP HANA. He has been associated with this product since its inception and has successfully led the team in delivering a product that has been widely regarded as a break-through innovation and the fastest growing product in the history of SAP. SAP HANA is an in-memory database platform that delivers unprecedented processing power which businesses can leverage to process real-time data for both transactional and analytic purposes and opens the doors for innovative solutions in Big Data space. Andy is focused in taking SAP HANA to the leaders circle challenging the dominance of traditional database solutions available today in the market place. Andy is also responsible for the development and end-to-end testing for SAP BW (Business Warehouse), which boosts over 16,000 installations world-wide.
Andy-s mantra in life is - When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. He instills a culture of innovative thinking and execution under pressure. While managing an R&D charter, Andy stays connected with customers, partners, analysts, media and other stakeholders and helps bridge the gap between R&D and Business reality.
Prior to joining SAP, Andy spent 10 years with Oracle based out of their headquarters in California, USA. He was the Director of Asset Lifecycle Management product family (part of Oracle Fusion Apps) leading both the engineering and product management functions. During his tenure at Oracle, Andy did the professional certification CPIM (Certified in Inventory and Production Management) administered and managed by APICS (The Association for Operations Management).
On a personal front, Andy has a hobby in Algorithmic Trading and has explored various Financial Markets and Statistical Trading Techniques, marrying the two worlds to formulate innovative trading strategies.
