Kiranbir Nag is a Principal for Saama Capital, where he is responsible for identifying co-investment opportunities and working with portfolio companies to assist them in their growth.
Based in Bangalore, Nag is responsible for identifying companies that will capitalize on the growth in IndiaÂ’s domestic market segment. Nag has 16 years of venture capital investing and investment banking experience in India. He brings with him experience from SVB Financial Group, Arthur Andersen, ANZ Grindlays and Ambit Corporate.
Prior to joining Saama Capital in 2012, Nag was Principal with SVB India Capital Partners, overseeing investment opportunities and sourcing portfolio companies with a particular focus on financial services, food and hospitality, education and engineering sectors. Previously Nag was vice president and head of South India for Ambit Corporate Finance, a boutique investment bank headquartered in Mumbai. There, Nag set up the South India operations and was an advisor on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and structured debt raisings for clients in the pharmaceutical, IT services, consumer durables and financial services industries.
Previously, Nag served as associate director of ANZ Investment Bank, the investment banking arm of the ANZ Banking Group and before that as a manager and member of the executive team at Arthur Andersen LLP.
Nag earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Mumbai and holds a chartered accountant’s qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is also a charter member and member of the Executive Managing Committee of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs), Bangalore
